Pathway to link Patna-Gaya road with Mithapur flyover

An elevated pathway will be constructed to connect the Patna-Gaya road parallel to the railway line with Mithapur flyover. The decision was taken at a review meeting of the road construction department (RCD) presided over by chief minister Nitish Kumar on Wednesday.
The elevated pathway will start from the eastern side of the Patna-Gaya road on the span connecting Punpun and Mithapur. Even the flyover connecting R-Block with Karbigahiya will be extended further to Chiraiyatand overbridge to solve the traffic problem on the road south to Patna Junction.
The CM asked the RCD to put all the roads along with state highways under the output and performance-based maintenance contract category for their proper upkeep. He also cautioned the officials to keep in mind the proposed metro project while constructing the Ram Manohar Lohia Path Chakra on Bailey Road.

A video presentation was also made before the CM on the Ram Manohar Lohia Path Chakra, an integrated circuit aimed at decongesting traffic on and around Bailey Road. A bridge will also be constructed over Patna-Digha railway line.
The CM was also briefed about the centrally sponsored Bharat Mala project, which is aimed at improving road connectivity to coastal, border, tribal, religious and tourists areas of the country.

While briefing the CM, RCD principal secretary Amrit Lal Meena said 1,432km of the total 35,000km roads to be constructed under this project across the country would be in Bihar.
The meeting was attended by deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi and RCD minister Nand Kishore Yadav along with senior officials.
